This section explains how to access the ZTP feature for the first time and familiarize yourself with its functionalities.

Refer to the EdgeMarc User Guide for complete details on how to configure your EdgeMarc device for network deployment.

ZTP does not support IPv6.

Accessing ZTP

To deploy ZTP in your network for the very first time, start by opening the EdgeView web application and signing in using your credentials.

To access ZTP, you need to login to an account with ZTP role, which has auto-provisioning privilege.. Refer User Management in EdgeView for complete details on how to set up a user account with auto-provisioning privileges. However, you can also access ZTP using your administrator account.

Select Provisioning in the EdgeView GUI. A drop-down list appears.

The items in the Provisioning menu are as follows:

  • Status
  • Policies
  • Auto-provision Devices

Status

The Status page shows you the details of provisioned devices.

You can see the following details in the Status page:

  • MAC Address – The Media Access Control address of the devices connected to EdgeView.
  • Model – The model number and details of the corresponding device.
  • Provisioning Policy – The current policy that is configured in the device.
  • Last Contact - The time at which the device last contacted the ZTP server.
  • Firmware – The current firmware on which the device is running.
  • Desired FW – The desired firmware to which the device should be upgraded or downgraded.
  • Config File – Status of current configuration file of the device.
  • Config Parameters – Status of the current configuration settings of the device.
  • Collection – The collection the device belongs to.

You can filter the devices by selecting the check-boxes near the desired labels.

Policies

Policies are used to configure EdgeMarc devices in the network. They contain settings such as network parameters, host settings, device collection, firmware version, server configuration, etc. You can add, modify or remove a policy (see ZTP Configuration Settings) according to your requirement. The policies are listed with the Name, Firmware, Configuration, Collection and Last edit.

Auto-provisioning Devices

Auto-provision is a feature in EdgeView ZTP that allows you to automatically configure policies across various EdgeMarc devices in the network. Auto-provisioning can be used to assign policies to individual devices as well as multiple devices together.
