This section describes how to replace an EdgeMarc legacy device.
The EdgeView allows you to easily replace the EdgeMarc legacy devices with newer devices using the functionality EdgeMarc Swap (ESWAP). To replace EdgeMarc legacy devices, perform EdgeView 15 synchronization to migrate the devices and collections managed by the EdgeView 14 to EdgeView 15 and later versions. Once the EdgeMarc legacy devices are migrated to the latest version of EdgeView use the ESWAP functionality to replace legacy devices with newer devices.
Create a collection in the EdgeView 16.x.x, to manage or access EdgeMarc legacy device(s) that are currently managed by the EdgeView 14.x.x. To create a collection:
Choose ADD COLLECTION. The Add Collection page appears.
Enter the following details:
Name – Enter a name for your collection.
Description – Enter a description for the collection.
Firmware Repository – Choose the Firmware Repository to associate with the collection.
For more details on how to create a collection, refer to Create Collections in EdgeView.
Create a user to give access to the collection that you created in Create a Collection. To create a user:
Choose ADD USER. The Add User page appears.
For more details on how to create a user, refer to User Management in EdgeView.
To enable the EdgeView 15 synchronization:
Choose EV SYSTEM > System Settings > EdgeView 15. The EdgeView 15 tab appears.
Enable EV15 Synchronization: Select the check-box.
EV15 Address: Enter the EdgeView 15 IP address.
EV15 Username: Enter the user-name of the user created in Create a User.
EV15 User Password: Enter the user's password.

For more details on the EdgeView 15 synchronization, refer to Manage EdgeMarc Legacy Devices.
You can now replace EdgeMarc legacy devices from the EdgeView 16.x.x. To replace the EdgeMarc legacy device:
In the Replace Device dialog box, enter the MAC address of the new replacement device and click REPLACE. The EdgeView now claims the new EdgeMarc device. When the replacement EdgeMarc comes online, it contacts the ZTP server. The ZTP server redirects the EdgeMarc to the EdgeView 16.x.x. It may take up to ten minutes for the legacy device's configuration to be moved over and applied to the new device.
For more details on how to replace EdgeMarc devices, refer to Replace EdgeMarc Legacy Devices.
By default, the new EdgeMarc device lands in the same collection as that of the EdgeMarc device it replaces. You can move it to any other collection. For more information on how to move an EdgeMarc device to a different collection, refer to Perform Actions on SBC Edge.
