About EdgeView SCC

EdgeView Service Control Center (SCC) enables multi-tenanted remote configuration and central management of Ribbon Communications Intelligent Edges and auto-provisioning of VoIP phones without the overhead of running a complex software stack on separate hardware. Using the EdgeView software running on EdgeView, enterprises and service providers can monitor, and troubleshoot VoIP performance statistics from a central location, thus enhancing the support services provided to their customers. As a virtualized micro-services based appliance, EdgeView offers excellent scale, high performance, agility and cost-effectiveness which can acts as a solid foundation for those enterprises and managed service providers considering hosted or managed, premise cloud or hybrid UCaaS offerings.EdgeView can manage networks of all sizes. It can be installed as a standalone system or in a redundant high-availability configuration for carrier-grade environments.

EdgeView 16.0.0 supports EdgeMarc VOS versions 15.0.5 and above. Please use EdgeMarc VOS version 15.8.0 and above to access all the new features of EdgeView 16.0.0.

Note

Recommended browsers for EdgeView 15 are Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge browsers are not recommended.

New Features in This Release

SCC-5740 EdgeView Supports Scheduling of EdgeMarc Firmware Upgrade

EdgeView supports jobs that schedule EdgeView firmware upgrade.

SCC-6948 EdgeView Supports Scheduling of EdgeMarc Configuration Push

EdgeView allows users to schedule configuration push from EdgeView to EdgeMarc.

SCC-7228 Bulk Actions Enhancement

EdgeView allows users to schedule the following bulk actions:

  • Configure Device
  • Upgrade Firmware

SCC-6803, SCC-7467 Phonism Integration

This feature allows configuration of phones which are supported by Phonism, through EdgeMarc and EdgeView capabilities. Phonism integration consists of:

  • Linking top-level Collection to a Tenant in Phonism using the X-API-Key.
  • EdgeView inserts a phone from a LAN into Phonism when it is discovered in the Health Report. EdgeView inserts the phone using it's MAC address if there is an X-API-Key in the top-level Collection.
  • Phones in the Attached Devices table, that has Phonism integration will have an edit icon to open the Phonism Edit Phone GUI.

SCC-2384 Trigger Notification of Available Diagnostic Reports

Users can create triggers for certain events like an application crash or kernel crash to generate a diagnostic report. The diagnostic report is generated in the form of a T-Info file which can be used to debug or understand the cause of occurrence of such events. The T-Info can be downloaded from the Diagnostics File tab or the Notifications page. Email notifications are also sent upon execution of the trigger.

SCC-6891 EdgeView Supports IPv6

EdgeView supports IPv6 in the following ways:

  • EdgeView agent supports the IPv6 management IP selection when present.
  • SCC and EdgeMarc are able to communicate through IPv6 addressing.
  • EdgeView accepts and displays IPv6 WAN IPs when the interface has an IPv6 global scope IP or when the IPv4/IPv6 Dual Stack is used.
  • EdgeView changes the IPv6 parameter on all relevant subsystems including networking, COS, SIP and management.
  • EdgeView upgrades EdgeMarc VOS using the IPv6 address.

  • If one or more end points in MOS reports use IPv6 addresses, they are processed correctly. 

SCC-4271, SCC-7450 Schedule Auto Cleanup of Data

Users are able to schedule auto cleanup of data every 30, 60 or 90 days, with 30 being the default value. This prevents EdgeView from exhausting all of it's storage space causing EdgeView failureThis removes all database entries, docker volumes and files outside docker volumes including log files and pcap files.
