Install the EdgeMarc in a 19” rack using the rack mount kit supplied with the device.

Before You Begin

Before installing the EdgeMarc in a rack, take note of the following conditions:

Elevated Operating Ambient— The operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may be greater than room ambient, if installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly. Therefore, consider installing the equipment in an environment compatible with the maximum ambient temperature (TMA) specified by the manufacturer.

Reduced Air Flow— Install the equipment in a rack such that the amount of air flow required for safe operation of the equipment is not compromised.

Mechanical Loading— Mount the equipment in the rack such that a hazardous condition is not achieved due to uneven mechanical loading.

Circuit Overloading— Consider the connection of the equipment to the supply circuit and the effect that overloading of the circuits might have on overcurrent protection and supply wiring. Consider equipment nameplate ratings when addressing this concern.

Reliable Earthing— Maintain reliable earthing of rack-mounted equipment. Give particular attention to supply connections other than direct connections to the branch circuit (for example, use of power strips). Refer to Power Surge Protection and Grounding.
