This section includes the procedures to provision the INAP Gateway. It is recommended that you follow the procedures in the order presented.
You can use the INAPGW General Configuration and Debug Configuration screens to configure system-wide attributes.
- From the Main Menu, click INAP Gateway.
Configure the required attributes.
Tip
The Restore Debug Defaults action restores the INAPGW logging configurations to their default values and clears the associated logging alarms.
- Click Continue.
- From the Main Menu, click INAP Gateway.
- Click Debug Configuration.

To activate or deactivate INAPGW traffic
Tip
The traffic cannot be activated if the E164 INAPGW is not defined.
- From the Main Menu, click INAP Gateway.
- Click Activate Traffic | Deactivate traffic as required.
- Click Continue.
Create an SCCP Network Appearance (NA) to receive the intercepted incoming GSM traffic and also to send and receive INAP Initial-DP queries destined to External NP Partners.
To create an SCCP NA
- From the Main Menu, click INAP Gateway.
- Click SCCP NAs.
- Click Create.
- Configure the required attribute.
- Click Continue.
Tip
To delete an SCCP NA, click the Delete button in the same line that the SCCP NA you want to delete appears.
To view an SCCP NA
- From the Main Menu, click INAP Gateway.
- Click SCCP NAs.
- Click the required SCCP NA.
To activate or deactivate traffic on an SCCP NA
Tip
The SCCP NA traffic cannot be activated if the INAPGW is inactive.
The SCCP NA should only be activated when the associated External NP Partner(s) are defined.
- From the Main Menu, click INAP Gateway.
- Click SCCP NAs.
- Click the required SCCP NA.
- Click Activate | Deactivate as required.
- Click Continue.
To view an SCCP NA connection
- From the Main Menu, click INAP Gateway.
- Click SCCP NAs.
- Click the required SCCP NA.
- Click the required SCCP NA Connection.
The External NP Partner object represent the NP database information for a given partner. Each partner is uniquely identifier by its Application ID attribute.
To create an External NP Partner
- From the Main Menu, click INAP Gateway.
- Click External NP Partners.
- Click Create.
- Configure the required attributes.
- Click Continue.

To delete an External NP Partner, click the Delete button in the same line that the External NP Partner you want to delete appears.
- From the Main Menu, click INAP Gateway.
- Click External NP Partners.
- Click the required External NP Partner.
- Configure the required attributes.
- Click Continue.
Viewing SCCP Registrations
You can view SCCP Registrations after activating all NAs to confirm that the PCSSN and AppID registrations are successful on their respective NAs.
The SCCP PCSSN Registration is used to intercept the INAPGW SS7-related traffic on the configured SCCP NA for a given PC-SSN combination. These registrations are automatically created for every SCCP NA based on the associated Local Point Code (LPC) and the INAP subsystem number.
The SCCP AppID Registration is used to intercept the INAPGW SS7-related traffic on the configured SCCP NA for a given Application ID. These registrations are automatically created for every SCCP NA based on the reserved Application ID SONUS_INAPGW_ME and configured External NP Partners’ Application ID.
To view an SCCP PCSSN Registration
- From the Main Menu, click INAP Gateway.
- Click SCCP Registrations.
- Click the required SCCP PCSSN Registration.
To view an SCCP AppID Registration
- From the Main Menu, click INAP Gateway.
- Click SCCP Registrations.
- Click the required SCCP AppID Registration.
