An Adjacent Diameter Node (ADN) is any node on the Ribbon DSC or in the Diameter network.

To create an ADN
- From the Main Menu, click DSC.
- Click the required DSC Instance (if more than one DSC Instance is defined).
- Click DSC Nodes.
- Click the required DSC Node.
- Click Adjacent Diameter Nodes.
- In the Adjacent Diameter Node Selection row, click Create.
Configure the required attributes.
Tip
The Realm attribute has to be entered. With the Realm defined, you can enter the DID Host but leave the Adjacent Diameter ID blank; or, enter the Adjacent Diameter ID but leave the DID Host blank. If the DID Host and Realm attributes are defined, the Adjacent Diameter ID is automatically filled. This attribute is the combination of the DID Host and Realm attributes. Changing the DID Host or Realm updates the Adjacent Diameter ID accordingly.
Click Create.
Tip
To delete an ADN, click X in the same line that this ADN appears on the Adjacent Diameter Node Selection screen. Before you can delete an ADN, you must deactivate this ADN (see To activate or deactivate an ADN).
- From the Main Menu, click DSC.
- Click the required DSC Instance (if more than one DSC Instance is defined).
- Click DSC Nodes.
- Click the required DSC Node.
- Click Adjacent Diameter Nodes.
Click the required Adjacent Diameter Node.
Tip
The Outgoing Answer Routing Table attribute has two possible values, which are dsc_default or an existing Routing Table name (except for Modification, Realm Routing, and Topology Mapping tables). This attribute allows the user to run all answer messages, which are generated or routed by the DSC, through one or more routing or modification tables before the messages are sent.
Configure the required attributes.
Caution
If the value of the Outgoing Answer Routing Table attribute is changed to anything other than the default value (dsc_default), the RFC6733 compliance may break according to section 6.2.2. It is the user's responsibility to either break or keep this compliance.
- Click Continue.
To activate or deactivate an ADN
Caution
Use the activate and deactivate actions with caution, because these actions may affect the Ribbon DSC traffic.
- From the Main Menu, click DSC.
- Click the required DSC Instance (if more than one DSC Instance is defined).
- Click DSC Nodes.
- Click the required DSC Node.
- Click Adjacent Diameter Nodes.
- Click the required Adjacent Diameter Node.
- Click Activate or Deactivate as required.
