This section provides procedures for the Service Handlers tab, Response Identifiers, and the Databases tab.
Service Handlers Tab Procedures
The following procedures are performed using the Service Handlers tab:
Create a service handler instance in the Service Handlers tab
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Service Handlers tab.
- Select service handler template node for which the instance is to be created.
Select Configure > Create SH Instance or press <CTRL+L>.
- Enter New SH Name. The valid range is 1-30[1-20], [A-Z], [a-z], [0-9], "-", ".", "_", and space.
- Click OK. The service handler instance is added under the service handler template node in the application tree.
Clone a service handler instance
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Service Handlers tab.
- Select service handler template node for which the instance is to be cloned.
- Select a service handler instance that you wish to clone.
Select Configure > Clone SH Instance.A Service Handler name Service Handler dialog window displays.
- Enter New SH Name. The valid range is 1-30[1-20], [A-Z], [a-z], [0-9], "-", ".", "_", and space.
- Click OK. The cloned service handler instance is created under the service handler template node in the application tree.
Delete a service handler instance in the Service Handlers tab
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Service Handlers tab.
- Select service handler template node for which the instance is to be deleted.
- Select the service handler instance that you wish to delete.
- Select Configure > Delete or click Delete icon or press <CTRL+Delete>. A confirmation dialog box displays.
- Click Yes to delete the service handler instance.
Rename a service handler instance in the Service Handlers tab
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Service Handlers tab.
- Select service handler template node for which the instance is to be renamed.
- Select the service handler instance that you wish to rename.
- Select Configure > Rename SH Instance. A Service Handler name Service Handler dialog window displays.
- Enter New Service Handler Name. The valid range is 1-30[1-20], [A-Z], [a-z], [0-9], -, ., _, and space.
- Click OK.
Add a service to the service handler instance
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Service Handlers tab.
- Select service handler template node.
Select the service handler instance for which you want to add a service. The right pane displays the services available for the selected service handler instance.
- Click check box to enable one or more services in the Attributes panel. The selected service is added and connected in the middle pane.
- Select Configure > Update or click Update icon. The service handler instance is updated with the enabled service.
Delete a service from the service handler instance
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Service Handlers tab.
- Select service handler template node.
- Select the service handler instance from which you wish to delete a service.
- Uncheck check box for the service to be deleted from the Attributes panel. The unchecked service is removed.
- Select Configure > Update or click Update icon.
Modify the order of services
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree. Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Service Handlers tab.
Select service handler template node.The list of services for the service handler is displayed in the Attributes panel.
- Select the required service in the Attributes panel to a desired location to change the order of the service.
- Select Configure > Update or click Update icon or press <CTRL+U>. The order of the services is updated.
Modify SH configuration
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Service Handlers tab.
- Select service handler template node.
Select service handler instance for which you want to modify the SH configuration.
- Modify the required parameters in the Specific Parameters panel.
Select Configure > Update or click Update icon.
If the entry is committed to the database, the Status column displays Success.
If the entry is not updated successfully, Status column displays Failure.
Response Identifiers Procedures
Search for a response identifier entry
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Service Handlers tab.
- Select service handler template node.
- Select Response Identifiers node in the application tree.
- Select response identifier you wish to search.
- Select parameter you want to search from the Parameters drop-down list in the Search Criteria panel.
- Click C operators in the Search Criteria panel.
- Enter the Value and press <RETURN>. The query is displayed in the Query text box. To specify more than one condition for search criteria, perform Step 10 or Step 12.
- Click L Operators.
- Perform Step 7 through Step 9.
- Click Search on the Search Criteria panel. The search result is displayed in the middle panel.
Add a response identifier entry
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Service Handlers tab.
- Select required service handler template node.
- Select service handler instance node for which you want to add a response identifier.
Select View > Switch to Entry Edit or click Switch to Entry Edit icon or press <CTRL+B>. The middle pane changes to the edit mode.
- Enter the values for the fields in the middle pane. The Status column displays Edited and changes to New.
- Select Configure > Update or click Update icon or press <CTRL+U>. If the entry is committed to the database, the Status column displays Success. If the entry is not updated successfully, Status column displays Failure.
- Select View > Switch to Browse Edit or click Switch to Browse Edit icon or press <CTRL+B> to view the added values.
Modify a response identifier entry
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Service Handlers tab.
- Select required service handler template node.
Select service handler instance node for which you wish to modify the response identifier.
Perform Search for an entry procedure or select the row you want to modify in the middle pane.
- Modify the required values in the middle pane. The status column displays Edited.
- Select Configure > Update or click Update icon or press <CTRL+U>. If the entry is committed to the database, the status column displays Success. If the entry is not updated successfully, the status column displays Failure.
Delete a response identifier entry
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Service Handlers tab.
- Select service handler template node for which you want to delete a response identifier.
- Select Response Identifiers node under the service handler.
- Select response identifier that you wish to delete.
- Perform Search for a response identifier entry procedure or select the row you wish to delete from the middle pane.
- Select Configure > Delete or click Delete icon or press <CTRL+Delete>. A confirmation dialog box displays.
- Click Yes. The selected row is deleted.
Databases Tab Procedures
The following procedures are performed using the Databases tab:
Add a service in the SH Service Description table
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Databases tab.
- Select the service handler database for which you want to add a service.
- Select SH Service Description under the selected service handler database.
- Select View > Switch to Entry Edit or click Switch to Entry Edit icon or press <CTRL+B>. The SH Service Description panel in the middle pane changes to the edit mode.
- Enter the Order and the SH ID in the SH Service Description panel.
- Select the Service Name from the drop-down list. The Status column displays Edited.
- Select Configure > Update or click Update icon or press <CTRL+U>. If the entry is committed to the database, the Status column displays Success. If the entry is not updated successfully, Status column displays Failure.
Modify a service in the SH Service Description table
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Databases tab.
- Select the service handler database for which you want to modify the service.
- Select SH Service Description under the selected service handler database.
- Select the SH ID for which you wish to change the service.
- Select the Service Name from the drop-down list. The Status column displays Edited.
- Select Configure > Update or click Update icon or press <CTRL+U>. If the entry is committed to the database, the Status column displays Success. If the entry is not updated successfully, Status column displays Failure.
Search for an entry
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Databases tab.
- Select a service handler database node.
- Select a table from the database which you wish to search.
- Select the parameter you want to search from the Parameters drop-down list in the Search Criteria panel.
- Click C operators in the Search Criteria panel.
- Enter a value for the selected parameter in the Value text field and press Return. The query is displayed in the Query text box. To specify more than one condition for search criteria, perform Step 9 or Step 11.
- Click L Operators.
- Perform Step 6 through Step 8.
- Click Search in the Search Criteria panel. The search result displays on the middle pane.
Create a service handler instance in the Databases tab
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Databases tab.
- Select Service Handlers.
- Select View > Switch to Entry Edit or click Switch to Entry Edit icon or press <CTRL+B>. The Service Handlers panel in the middle pane changes to the edit mode.
- Double-click the SH Type text box to display the Referenced column help widow or enter the SH Type. Select the name in the installedSHTypes panel in the Referenced column help widow or search for the name in the Referenced column help widow.
- Enter a SH Name in the Service Handlers panel. The Status column displays Edited and changes to New.
Select Configure > Update or click Update icon or press <CTRL+U>. If the entry is committed to the database, the Status column displays Success. If the entry is not updated successfully, Status column displays Failure.
- Select View > Switch to Browse Edit or click Switch to Browse Edit icon or press <CTRL+B> to view the added values.
Delete a service handler instance in the Databases tab
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree. Select SS7 DB Application.
- Select Service Handlers.
- Select the instance that you want to delete in the Service Handlers panel.
- Select Configure > Delete or click Delete icon or press <CTRL+Delete>. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.
- Click Yes. The selected instance is deleted from the table.
Rename a service handler instance in the Databases tab
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Databases tab.
- Select Service Handlers.
- Select the instance that you want to rename in the Service Handlers panel.
- Modify the SH Name in the Service Handlers panel. The Status column displays Edited.
- Select Configure > Update or click Update icon or press <CTRL+U>. If the entry is committed to the database, the Status column displays Success. If the entry is not updated successfully, The Status column displays Failure.
Add an entry in the database table
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree. Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Databases tab.
- Select the service handler database.
- Select the table for which you want to add an entry.
Select View > Switch to Entry Edit or click Switch to Entry Edit icon or press <CTRL+B>. The middle pane changes to the edit mode.
- Enter values for the fields in the middle pane.The Status column displays Edited and changes to New.
- Select Configure > Update or click Update icon or press <CTRL+U>. If the entry is committed to the database, the Status column displays Success. If the entry is not updated successfully, Status column displays Failure.
- Select View > Switch to Browse Edit or click Switch to Browse Edit icon or press <CTRL+B> to view the added values.
Modify an entry in the database table
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Databases tab.
- Select the service handler database.
Select the table for which you want to modify an entry.
Perform Search for an entry procedure or select the row you want to modify in the middle pane.
- Modify the required values in the middle pane.The Status column displays Edited.
- Select Configure > Update or click Update icon or press <CTRL+U>. If the entry is committed to the database, the Status column displays Success. If the entry is not updated successfully, Status column displays Failure.
Delete an entry in the database table
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Databases tab.
- Select the service handler database from which you want to delete an entry.
- Select the table from which you want to delete the entry.
- Perform Search for an entry procedure or select the row you want to delete in the middle pane.
- Select Configure > Delete or click Delete icon or press <CTRL+Delete>. A confirmation dialog box displays.
- Click Yes. The selected row is deleted from the table.
Generate a report
- Select CONFIGURATION from the launcher tree.
- Select SS7 DB Application.
- Click Databases tab.
- Select service handler database in the left pane.
- Select required database table node.The database table with the details is displayed in the middle pane.
Select View > Report > CSV or HTML or click Report icon. An information dialog box displays.
Click OK.
Select View > View Report or click View Report icon or press <CTRL+W> to view the generated report.
