It is assumed that you are logged into the required DSC SWe or vSP2000 VM.
Depending on your system configuration, the DSC Platform is equipped with as many as ten virtual slots. Each virtual slot has one license key.
To commission a new DSC Platform, the product license key information is added to the system for verification and authentication.
Do not attempt to open or modify the license key file. Any such attempt disables the DSC SWe. Contact Customer Support for assistance with license key files.
The DSC - vSP2000 Platform is equipped with virtual slots. Each virtual slot has one license key. To commission a new DSC SWe - vSP2000 Platform, the product license key information is added to the system for verification and authentication.
Prerequisites
Open a Salesforce case to the PS Signaling Queue with the customer name and license request.
For license key generation, include the following information about your system in your Salesforce case above:
You can find the UUID and MAC addresses of each VM using: w_show_mac_serial
Start
When prompted, change the root password. For information about password restrictions, see DSC Password Management.
Navigate to the DSC Platform Main Menu, select Licensing, and then press ENTER.
When prompted to agree and acknowledge the terms of the agreement, enter yes and then press ENTER.
Enter yes not y. Otherwise, this agreement is displayed again.
Do one of the following:
Press ENTER when prompted. Go to step 12.
Enter the license keys one at a time for the displayed MAC Address. After each license key entry, press ENTER to start a new line for the next license key.
The letter that you received with your system lists the MAC Addresses for the Routing and Management VMs with the corresponding license key.
