The Event Notification Setup feature is used to enable or disable notification of individual alarms and events to an SNMP trap host and to the Alarm Dashboard. The following figure shows the Event Notification Setup Selection screen.

The following shows the Event Notification Setup Screen.

Event Notification Setup Screen

All alarms and events are logged in the ptisyslog and may not be disabled. All alarms and events can be enabled or disabled for transmission to an SNMP Trap host using the Event Notification Setup feature.

Critical, major, minor, and warning alarms can be viewed in the Alarm Dashboard with a few exceptions. These exceptions are listed in the Event Notification Setup screen as DISABLED_PERMANENTLY under the Dashboard column.

Clearing events never appear in the Alarm Dashboard even though the option to enable and disable them for display in the Alarm Dashboard can still be selected in the Event Notification Setup Screen.

To enable or disable an event notification

  1. From the Main Menu, click SNMP
  2. Click Event Type List
  3. Click the required event number.
  4. Configure the attributes as required.

You must set both the SNMP Trap and the Dashboard attributes to either ENABLED or DISABLED.
