Configuring the debug information using this utility sets the debug flags only for the NA that you are configuring. Debug logging is useful for troubleshooting purposes, but excessive logging can cause communication delays and is not recommended for normal operation.

Caution

It is recommended that only the Debug Feature and the Debug Error attributes are enabled for live systems. The Debug Feature enables or disables diagnostic logging for the NA, and the Debug Error records instances of miscellaneous errors that occur on the NA.

For information about viewing and configuring diagnostic logs, refer to the appropriate section of the DSC - SP2000 Platform Manager User Guide or the DSC - SP2000 Platform Manager User Guide.

To configure the debug logging attributes

  1. From the Main Menu, click MTP3.

  2. Click the NA you want to configure.

  3. Click Debug Configuration.

  4. Configure the attributes.

    Tip

The Restore Debug Defaults action restores the MTP3 NA logging configurations to their default values and clears the associated logging alarms.

  5. Click Continue.
