This table can be used as a next screening step following the Incoming Linksets, Incoming App IDs, Allowed OPCs, or Blocked OPCs screening tables. The Service Indicator Octet (SIO) comprises the Network Indicator (NI), Priority bits (PRI), and Service Indicator (SI). The H0 and H1 values are also provisioned for MTP network management and Signaling Link Test and Acknowledgement messages. For signaling network message codes, refer to the appropriate section in the SS7 Application Guide 1.

An Allowed SIO record defines the MSUs with SI octet that pass initial gateway screening.

Note

The DSC WebUI has the option to not screen MTP3 (Message Transfer Part) Management MSUs (Message Signaling Unit) (SIO 0-2), and to send the messages directly to the GWS Tables. This feature can be enabled or disabled on the MTP3 NA Detailed Configuration screen (via the Screen Management MSUs option).

This screening table is filtered with the following attributes:

  • EPR
  • EPR and SI

To obtain all allowed SIO records, set EPR to zero (0).

By default, the next screening step is a successful STOP EPR.

The following figure illustrates the possible next screening tables you can use to provision additional attributes.
