Telco Alarm LEDs

The Telco alarm status LEDS are located on both the AMC671 MCH and RMC670 μRTM faceplates to indicate critical, major, and minor alarms (see Figure MCH Faceplate and Figure RMC670 ?RTM Faceplate). The LEDs and connector interfaces are connected to the platform management controller.

The following table lists and describes Telco LED behavior and Table AMC671 MCH LED States lists and describes the Telco LED states. For more information about these alarm LEDs, refer to the appropriate section in the DSC Alarms Guide.

Telco Alarm LED Behavior

P1 and P2 LEDs

Two (2) 1 Gbps Ethernet data ports are provided on the AMC671 MCH front panel. Each port (P1 and P2) has two LEDs that indicate its status. The following table lists and describes these LED states.

Note

The two (2) 1000Base-T Ethernet ports, P1 and P2 (RJ45 connectors), located on the AMC671 faceplate, are not used by the DSC Platform.

P4 LED

The P4 LED on the AMC671 MCH front panel shows the status of the P4 10/100/1000Mbps data port provided on the RMC670 µRTM. The port has one LED that displays either yellow or green depending on the link speed.

BP2 LED

The supported 10GbE switch base pipe port, BP2, on the RM670 μRTM faceplate, has one LED on the AMC671 MCH faceplate that indicates both link activity and speed for the its respective port. See Table AMC671 MCH BP2, and FP1 - FP4, LED Description for the lists and descriptions of the LED states.

FP1 and FP2 LEDs

The FP1 and FP2 ports on the AMC671 MCH faceplate each has one LED (FP1 and FP2) on the AMC671 MCH faceplate that indicates both link activity and speed for the respective port. See Table AMC671 MCH BP2, and FP1 - FP4, LED Description for the lists and descriptions of the LED states.

FP3 and FP4 LEDs

The FP3 and FP4 LEDs on the AMC671 front panel allows you to observe the status of the FP3 and FP4 ports on the RMC670 µRTM front panel. These LEDs indicate both link activity and speed.

BP APP and FP APP LEDs

The Base Pipe Processor Application (BP APP) and Fat Pipe Processor Application (FP APP) LEDs are located on the AMC671 MCH faceplate. The behavior of these LEDs is the same.

When the processor is ready, the LED color indicates if a fault has occurred in the corresponding base pipe or fat pipe subsystem. A historic fault indication means that there was an unacknowledged fault at some time prior, but that the AMC671 MCH has been reset and is back in service. To acknowledge a historic fault, refer to the CLI command switch status clear historic.

MCH LED

The AMC671 MCH LED is located on the card's faceplate and is a bicolor LED.

IS and OOS LED

The In-Service (IS) and Out-of-Service (OOS) LEDs are provided on both the MCH and the RMC670 µRTM front panels and indicate the state of these cards. The applicable states are defined in the PICMG MicroTCA.0 Specification.

The IS LED is activated when the OOS LED is turned off and is never turned on when the OOS LED is on.

The OOS LED is activated to indicate that the payload is out-of-service (payload power is off, held in reset, or faulted in a way that precludes operation). Otherwise, the OOS LED is off.

The default local color of the OOS LED is determined by FRU data and is configurable as either red or amber.

Hot-swap LED

When inserting the AMC671 MCH, the hot-swap LED is illuminated when the card makes contact with the DSC 8000 backplane, and remains lit until the card has successfully booted.

When illuminated, the hot-swap LED function are the same on the AMC671 MCH and RMC670 µRTM.
