Supported interface connectors on the AMC124 CPU faceplate are shown in following figure.

AMC124 CPU Faceplate

Serial Console Port

The serial console port is a 9-pin male DB9 connector that provides the COM1, from the Intel Xeon C5500 processor, through the Intel 3420 PCH, to the AMC124 faceplate. The serial cable provided with the AMC124 is a DTE connection (RS- 232 levels), allowing communications to a modem (DCE) without the need of a null modem. A null modem (DB9F to DB9F) allows connection to a terminal or PC (DTE) directly. The connector also accepts DB9 female connectors on standard cables. RS-232 signal levels and 15KV ESD protection are provided by the interface.

The following table describes the port pinout

Ethernet Connector Ports

Note

The two (2) 1000Base-T Ethernet ports (RJ45 connectors) located on the AMC124 faceplate, are not used by the DSC 8000 system.

The external Ethernet ports are not used by the Ribbon DSC system application. Communication with the AMC124 CPU module is through the internal DSC switches. The pinout for the connector is provided.

The following table defines the optional Ethernet connector pins.
