It is recommended that you deactivate SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c before you add users using SNMPv3. If the IP address is changed on the CPUs or VM(s) where the SNMP software resides, all SNMPv3 users of this software must be deleted and recreated.
To activate SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c
- Log onto the one of the Management CPUs or Management and Routing VM1 or VM2.
- From the Main Menu, click IP Networking.
- Click SNMP.
Under the SNMPv2 heading, click Enable SNMP Access.
To deactivate SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c
- Log onto the one of the Management CPUs or Management and Routing VM1 or VM2.
- From the Main Menu, click IP Networking.
- Click SNMP.
Under the SNMPv2 heading, click Disable SNMP Access.
To add an SNMPv3 user
- Log onto the one of the Management CPUs or Management and Routing VM1 or VM2.
- From the Main Menu, click IP Networking.
- Click SNMP.
Under the SNMPv3 User heading, enter the credentials for the new user as required.
- Click Add.
To delete an SNMPv3 user
- Log onto the one of the Management CPUs or Management and Routing VM1 or VM2.
- From the Main Menu, click IP Networking.
- Click SNMP.
Under the Current SNMPv3 Users heading, click X in the same row in which the SNMPv3 user you want to delete appears.
To list an SNMPv3 user
- Log onto the one of the Management CPUs or Management and Routing VM1 or VM2.
- From the Main Menu, click IP Networking.
Click SNMP.
The SNMPv3 users are listed by default under the Current SNMPv3 Users heading.
