Note

The following section is only applicable to the DSC Platform.

Connections from CCS OS Nodes to the DSC 8000 STP are managed through the SR-5129 protocol over an IP connection using the high-availability IP (shared IP) management address (see the following figure) on the Management CPUs. For more information about the DSC 8000 IP configuration, see the appropriate chapter in the DSC 8000 Hardware Installation Guide or the DSC - SP2000 Platform Manager User Guide.

Note

GR-310-CORE X.25 transport protocol is not supported.

CCS OS Node to DSC 8000 Setup

As shown in the preceding illustration, the GR-310-CORE and GR-778-CORE commands issued by CCS OS Node are converted in STP to their equivalent TL1 commands and vice versa to allow for the configuration and administration of the STP.

Note

For a SNAM session, the TL1 commands bypass security checks and do not require that the TL1 server be supplied with password and username credentials. This rule is only applicable for SNAMI users.
