Message Transfer Part Level 3 Broadband (MTP3B) is configured at the NA and at the linkset level for the supported link types. These link types are M2PA and M3UA. The range for the maximum number of bytes allowed, including routing label and SIO, is 273 to 4092 bytes. The value should remain at the default of 273 in the Web UI unless the NA is meant to support MTP3B with long MSUs.

Using the Web UI, you can do the following:

  • Set interval in which the maximum number of SNMP traps can be raised to report a Long MSU discard for an unsupported destination. Unsupported destination could be a linkset, user part or application.

  • Set the duration of the MTP3B MSU discard alarm. The alarm remains visible on the Alarm Dashboard from the last long MSU discard until the set interval timer expires.

For example, the screen capture in the following procedure shows that a maximum of five SNMP traps can be generated every two minutes.

To configure MTP3B support

  1. From the Main Menu, click MTP3.

  2. Click the required NA.

  3. Click Detailed Configuration.
