The Gateway Screening (GWS) Statistics Rules tracks screening and redirection results for GWS licensed systems, based on a user's existing GWST configuration. This statistics file is a key data component (as recommended in the GSMA IR.82 Security SS7 Implementation) to determine traffic patterns and screen hot spots from possible malicious nodes or individuals.

A system-wide statistics instance is setup by default. Users can define statistics rules for screening based on incoming record, OPC/DPC, and SCCP parameters. The GWS Statistics cover successes, failures, and discards for each table, redirections, SCRERRs, and test mode setting.

The GWS Statistics Rule file has no dependencies on any of the screening, redirection, or accounting tables.  However, the NA-APC or NA-AppID must match the PC Routing format of the GWS Incoming LS or App ID or the Accounting records (MTP3 and SCCP Rules).  Once an NA is assigned an SS7 variant, the PC Routing and Display must be consistent throughout.

A maximum of 1,000 GWS Statistics Rules can be created. Up to 500 of them can be defined on a given entry point (NA-APC or NA-AppID).

The table is filtered with the following attributes:

  • NA

  • NA and Linkset APC

  • NA and Application ID

  • Name

To obtain all GWS Statistics Rules records, set NA to zero (0) and Name to empty.
