The C20 and SP2000 support Network and Cluster routing for Signaling Connection Control Part (SCCP) and Transaction Capabilities Application Part (TCAP) processing. For more information about the SCCP and TCAP, refer to the appropriate sections in the SS7 Application Guide 2.

Specifically, these routeset types are used to route response messages [for example, TCAP answers, Unitdata Service (UDTS) messages, and so on]. This functionality is supported on MTP NAs in the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) network that have been configured to work with the C20.

For this feature, MTP and the Signaling Gateway (SG) are running on MTP3 user application protocol (MTP3 UAP), Version 8. The SG sends the Cluster routeset audit messages to MTP to request the routeset state and MTP replies the routeset state with the new Cluster routeset state message.

The following limitations apply to this feature

  • Default routesets are not supported
  • Dynamic x-Routeset provisioning message generated is NOT sent to the C20
  • SCON, DRST and DUPU are not supported
  • M3UAv2 format is not supported
  • No labels
