In this section:

Before you can configure the CIC UA, M3UA, or SFG UA IP protocols on the SG, you must configure one or more TCP connections between the SG and the corresponding MTP3 NAs.

When the SG MTP3 NA is first created, it is INACTIVE, and does not communicate with the corresponding MTP3 NA (see To create an SG MTP3 NA). As soon as the SG MTP3 NA is set to active, the Local Point Code and SS7 Variant attributes of the SG MTP3 NA are updated, and the NA Status attribute appears as ACTIVE. MTP3 NA traffic can now be transmitted to the SG.

If you want to activate or deactivate this MTP3 NA, use the Activate or Deactivate actions (see To activate or deactivate an SG MTP3 NA).

Note

The actions C20 DeleteForce C20 Delete, and Delete Status are specific to the SP2000 if your system is licensed for the C20. The descriptions for these actions are as follows:

  • C20 Delete: This action causes the SG to send a Delete NA provisioning message to the C20. When the C20 replies with a success response, the NA status changes to DELETABLE. The NA can then be deleted.

  • Force C20 Delete: This action changes the Delete Status to DELETABLE without sending a delete request to the C20. The action is necessary as an override in the event that the NA requires deleting and the C20 is not available to respond to the delete request from the SG.

  • Delete Status: This attribute is set to DELETABLE by default. The status becomes UNDELETABLE when the C20 positively responds to an Add Network Appearance provisioning request.
