In this section:

The Command Code Definition defines a name for a Diameter Command Code, for use in Command Code Routing Tables. The Command Code table is also used to allow user configuration of message importance, for use with DSC congestion procedures.

The Diameter Command Code is a three-octet field that is part of the Diameter message header (refer to Message Format). Diameter Command Codes are allocated by IANA and are part of one namespace (the same command code cannot be reused by different vendors to mean different things) as per RFC6733, Diameter Base Protocol (refer to http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc6733.txt).
