AVP Aliases are used in Routing Tables and Modification Tables (refer to Configuring Attribute Value Pair (AVP) Routing Table and Record).

An AVP Alias is used to describe an AVP that is possibly nested, or set of AVPs within a message. Nested AVPs are similar to un-nested (single) AVPs with the exception that the data field of nested AVP contains one or more AVPs instead of data.

To create an AVP Alias Definition

  1. From the Main Menu, click DSC.

  2. Click the required DSC Instance (if more than one DSC Instance is defined).

  3. Click DSC Definitions.

  4. Click AVP Alias Definitions.

  5. In the AVP Alias Definition Selection row, click Create.

  6. Configure the required attributes.

  7. Click Create.
Tip

To delete an AVP Alias Definition, click X in the same line that this AVP Alias Definition appears on the AVP Alias Definition Selection screen.
