This section provides you with information to commission and decommission an SP2000 I/O card after an upgrade.

If either of the AMC121 Management/Routing CPUs fails, refer to the Replacing an AMC121 CPU for 3U Systems or Replacing an AMC121 CPU for 13U Systems for procedures to replace this card.

Caution

Commissioning, decommissioning, installing, or removing an I/O card(s) must be performed during a maintenance window. Otherwise, the system may not perform as expected.

For more information about preparing the system for a maintenance window, refer to Planning the Maintenance Window.

Caution

Do not log onto the system using the shared IP addresses on the Management CPUs during the commissioning and decommissioning processes described in this section. These addresses are disabled as part of the upgrade process.

Note

All the examples in this document assume a Linux/Unix environment. Alternatively, utilities such as psftp.exe and putty.exe can be used in a Windows environment to SSH.
