The Gateway Accounting (GWA) is a licensed feature of the GWST to collect MSU and octet counts for billing purposes based on MTP3 and SCCP traffic accounting criteria for incoming and outgoing SS7 linkset and user traffic. The MTP3 traffic is based on the transfer resources while the SCCP traffic is based on the relay resources.

This feature has been designed to allow you to define the traffic criteria into accounting rules based on Q.752. The accounting table supports ranges and wildcards (refer to Provisioning Wildcards and Ranges) for all attributes presented with the exception of the

  • NA
  • linkset APC (Adjacent PC) or Application ID
  • traffic direction

Digits are best sub-string while PC and other ranges match the GWS range definition and wildcard.

Note

Accounting criteria cannot overlap on a per table basis.

When matching an accounting record, statistics are collected for the number of MSUs and the number of octets. The MSU octet number is based on the Signaling Information Octet (SIO) and Signaling Information Field (SIF) only for a maximum of 273 per MSU.

GWA only applies to MSUs that GWS successfully screened. Incoming messages are only subject to pre-GTT screening. These messages are counted in the RX rules even if they fail post-GTT screening.
