When a local Application Service Part (ASP) registers with the Signaling Gateway (SG), or when SCCP is used, a Level 4 connection is created. Because this connection shows that an internal connection to MTP3 is made, only one Level 4 connection instance per DRE is created when the Signaling Gateway and SCCP connect to MTP3, even for multiple ASP registrations.
The IP Address shown for the Level 4 connection is the host system, where the connecting application resides. Typically, SCCP and SG use the 127.0.0.1 local IP address.
To view a Level 4 connection
- From the Main Menu, click MTP3.
- Click the required NA.
- Click L4 Connections.
- Click the required L4 Connection.
