If you have any difficulty with removing or installing FRU components or system cards, contact Customer Support.  

In case you require assistance from Customer Support, make sure that you have the following information available prior to your call:   

  • MAC address, license number, or serial number of the system card that you are removing
  • serial number of the card that you are installing

Dangerous voltages capable of causing death are present in the SP2000, field-replaceable components, and system cards. Use extreme caution when handling, testing, and adjusting this equipment.

 Static electricity can damage electronic components. Wear a wrist strap grounded through one of the system's ESD ground jacks when servicing system components.  The system cards must be installed in designated slots.

Caution

It is recommended that you follow the system card installation instructions provided in this document very carefully. Proper alignment of the cards is crucial to avoid bending backplane pins when inserting these cards because bent backplane pins are not covered under warranty.
