Japan and ITU have a point code incompatibility where Japan has a 16-bit point code while ITU has a 14-bit point code. Point code mapping is, therefore, crucial in the associated Route Mapping objects.
Japan NTT is the national Japanese variant which contains additional parameters for billing in the Address Complete (ACM) and Answer (ANM) in ISUP. Japan NTT also has some national messages, which are unsupported in ITU.
The Signaling Connection Control Part (SCCP) messages have their Party Address converted for the point code incompatibility. The SCCP Data parameter is also converted for SCMG messages for point code references.

ITU (ISUP) to Japan NTT (ISUP)
This section includes the ITU (ISUP) to Japan NTT (ISUP) conversion information.
Message Processing
This section provides you with the ITU (ISUP) to Japan NTT (ISUP) message processing information.
ACM
The Japan NTT ACM has two IAA (billing related) mandatory parameters: Charge Area Information (see the following figure) and Carrier Information Transfer (see Figure Carrier Information Transfer). These two Japan NTT parameters, which are undefined in ITU, must be inserted in the resulting Japan NTT ACM for proper billing.
The information digits of the Charge Area Information parameter are to be configurable based on customer requirements. Currently, the digits are hard coded to NULL (size 0).
The Carrier Information Transfer parameter has 3 sub-parameters: Transit Indication, Carrier Signals, and POI. These 3 sub-parameters are to be configurable based on customer requirements. Currently, the Transit Indication is set to 0, the Carrier Signals are set to NULL (size 0), and POI is set to 0.
Carrier Information Transfer
The BCI parameter is added if not present, or overwritten if present, in the ACM. The BCI sub-fields are configurable on a per destination Route Mapping object basis.
ANM
Similarly to the Japan NTT ACM, the Japan NTT ANM has a mandatory BCI parameter. The BCI values are configurable as defined in the ACM message (see ACM).
