In this section:

Configuring the IP Routing Interface

This section provides details on configuring the pkt[0-3] Ethernet routing interfaces for Diameter signaling traffic.

Use the Web UI to perform this task.

Note

You can configure the IP/SCTP packet [also referred to as Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) size (in bytes)] for the DSC SWe IP Routing interfaces to best suit your unique networking environment. For more information, refer to Configuring the IP/SCTP Packet Size.

This feature is not supported for the Management and Application VMs. The MTU for these interfaces is set by the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to 1500 bytes by default that cannot be changed.

To configure the Routing IP traffic interfaces

  1. From the Main Menu, click IP Networking.

  2. Click Routing IP Network.

  3. From the Routing IP Network Configuration on drop-down list, select the Routing and Management VM that you want to configure.

  4. Using the Add New Routing Subnet drop-down-list, select the required subnet type.

  5. Click Add.

  6. Click Continue.

Configuring the IMF Routing Interface

The Routing and Management VMs have combined network functions for both routing and management IP traffic. Only one gateway (default management gateway) is configurable on a Routing and Management VM. The IMF IP routing interface is configured using the Web UI. Static IP routing information for the IMF routing interface is entered in the IMF IP Network configuration screen.

Note

The IMF interface on a Routing and Management VM uses static IP routing for IMF traffic. A gateway is not selectable as an IMF routing interface. Only the default management gateway is supported on a Routing and Management VM.

To configure the IMF routing interface

  1. From the Main Menu, click IP Networking.

  2. Click IMF IP Network.

  3. Configure the required attributes.
  4.
  5. Click Save and Restart Networking.
