Server Pools are useful in some configurations, where dsc_default routing is not sufficient to correctly route messages (refer to Default Routing of Diameter Signaling Traffic). Server pools with members not in the local realm (the realm of the node), require explicit routing via the routing tables to be reached. The DRA is an example of this case where a Diameter Proxy or Relay agent has to direct traffic between multiple PCRFs in the same realm (refer to Deployments).
