Use this object to configure the SBC with the Centralized Policy Server. You cannot configure multiple Remote Servers using a combination of IP addresses and FQDNs. Only one type is allowed at any given time. On the SBC main screen, go to Configuration > System Setup > Policy Server > Remote Server. The Remote Server List window is displayed. To edit a Remote Server in the list, click the radio button next to the specific Remote Server name. The Edit Selected Remote Server window is displayed. IP Address Example: FQDN Example: Make the required changes and click Save to save the changes. To create a new Remote Server, click New Remote Server tab on the Remote Server List panel. The Create New Remote Server window is displayed. FQDN Example: Update and populate the required fields. Remote Server Parameters Parameter Length/Range Description Name Up to 23 characters Enter the name of the remote policy server. IP Address V4 or V6 Up to 32 characters Enter the IPv4 or IPv6 address of the PSX Server. FQDN 0-256 This functionality is currently only available in an OpenStack cloud environment. Enter the Policy Server FQDN value. You can configure the PSX cluster FQDN in an SBC instance or seed it in the SBC instance during instantiation. The SBC instance learns a list of IP addresses of remote policy server instances in a PSX cluster by resolving the PSX cluster's FQDN with the help of the DNS server. This enables SBC to talk to multiple PSX instances of a PSX cluster by simply providing the FQDN of the PSX cluster. NOTE: The user can configure the remote policy server's (PSX) FQDN or IP address but cannot configure both simultaneously. Refer to SBC Support of Multiple PSX Clusters Using PSX Cluster FQDN for feature details. Max Policy Server Count 1-40 This functionality is currently only available in an OpenStack cloud environment. Choose the maximum number of policy server clients to create using the IP addresses picked from the DNS results under the remote server configuration (default = 1). NOTE: This parameter is only visible when FQDN is configured/used. Port Number 1-65535 The logical port number for the SBC to use for IP communication with the remote policy server. Default = 3055 State N/A The administrative state of the remote policy server: Mode N/A The operational state of the remote policy server: Action N/A The method by which queued transactions are processed when the operational state goes to standby or out of service: Transaction 50-60000 The time to wait (in milliseconds) for a reply from the initial transaction request. When this timer expires, a transaction retry will be issued. Subsequent retries of this transaction are controlled by the Retries and Retry Timer values. Default = 500 Keep Alive 1-60 The time interval (in seconds) to wait before issuing a "keep-alive" poll to the Policy Server. This poll is issued only if there is no other policy server activity during this interval. The receipt of any message from the Policy Server resets the elapsed time to 0. Default is 5 Retry Timer 50-60000 The time in milliseconds that the SBC waits for a response from the Policy Server after retransmitting the transaction request. Default = 2500 Retries 0-32 The number of times to retry any policy server transaction. Default = 1 To copy any of the created Remote Server and to make any minor changes, click the radio button next to the specific Remote Server to highlight the row. Click Copy Remote Server tab on the Remote Server List panel. The Copy Selected Remote Server window is displayed along with the field details, which can be edited. Make the required changes to the required fields and click Save. To delete a Remote Server, click the radio button next to the specific remote server. Click Delete at the end of the highlighted row. A delete confirmation message appears seeking your decision. Click Yes to remove the specific Remote Server from the list. Use this command to reset SIP registration count. Policy Server - Remote Server Commands Select Switch Back from the drop-down menu and click Select. A pop-up window is displayed with the selected option. Click switchBack.
