The Modify Default VLAN task enables you to modify the VLAN used as the default on the selected port. You can either select an existing VLAN or create a new one. The IP address from the existing VLAN will be migrated to the new default VLAN in the cases listed below.
Set the default VLAN as follows:
In the left navigation pane, under IP/Protocols, click Modify Default VLAN.
The port in which the selected VLAN will be configured as the Default VLAN. Valid entry: select from the drop down list of available ports.
Determines whether an existing or new VLAN is used as the Default VLAN. Valid entry: Select Existing VLAN (you select an existing VLAN as the default), or Create New VLAN (you create a new VLAN as the default). If you select Create New VLAN, the following fields are displayed: VLAN ID, VLAN Description, MST Instance. When a new VLAN is created, it is added to the Logical Interfaces table. See Managing Logical Interfaces.
An integer value that identifies the VLAN and is used in assigning port membership. Valid entry: 2 - 3999.
A description of the VLAN (i.e., Lync VLAN, Sonus VLAN, etc.). This field is available only when Create New VLAN is selected from VLAN Selection.
Specifies the list of available Multiple Spanning Tree (MST) Instances. For more information about MST, see Working with Multiple Spanning Trees. Valid entry: select from the drop down list. This field is available only when Create New VLAN is selected from VLAN Selection.
Specifies the list of existing VLANs associated with this port. This list is populated with the entries in the VLAN Table. See Managing VLANs. Valid entry: select an entry from the drop down list. This field is available only when Select Existing VLAN is selected from VLAN Selection.
