SecureLink (also known as SecureLink Gatekeeper) is a third party remote management tool used extensively by the Ribbon Support team. SecureLink allows Ribbon dedicated remote connectivity into your devices while providing you with the latest in security and audit ability. This object provides the ability to view the DNS IP address, SecureLink Gatekeeper version, edit registration code and also the status and results of the host name lookup test and direct connectivity test of the SecureLink access test.

From the SBC main screen, navigate to Administration > System Administration > SecureLink. The SecureLink window is displayed.

Note

The security of the SBC is enhanced to restrict the port 4680 to "localhost". With this enhancement, you cannot access the Gatekeeper (web-based SecureLink GUI, served from the port 4680) remotely using the management port of the SBC. Access to the Gatekeeper tool through your browser is not required to configure SecureLink.

Note
  •  The SecureLink access is available only for hardware-based SBCs.
  • The Open Gatekeeper button is deprecated.

To install and/or uninstall SecureLink, click Install SecureLink and Uninstall SecureLink  respectively. By default, SecureLink is bundled with the SBC application package. When you install the SBC application, SecureLink is automatically installed as part of the application installation.

Note

To uninstall SecureLink:

  • Disable access to Gatekeeper (if it is in enabled state) - click Disable Gatekeeper Access.
  • Click Uninstall SecureLink.

To setup SecureLink, perform the following:

  1. Enter the IP address of the DNS server in the DNS IP address field.
  2. Enter the registration code in the Registration code field (The registration code can be obtained from Ribbon).
  3. Click Enable Gatekeeper Access. The Gatekeeper access status is displayed as enabled in the screen.

    Note

Do not enter the same registration code on both the SBCs in an HA pair. If you do, only one SBC is enabled at a time.

  4. Click Test SecureLink Access to perform the Host name lookup test and Direct connectivity test.

    Note

The Host name lookup test and Direct connectivity test field status change to In Progress.

Once the host name lookup and direct connectivity test is successful, you can access the SecureLink application.

To disable Gatekeeper Access, perform the following:

  1. On the main screen, go to Administration > System Administration > SecureLink.
  2. Click Disable Gatekeeper Access.
It may take a while to disable Gatekeeper Access.

To collect the logs for troubleshooting SecureLink issues:
