Use the Packet Outage window to set packet outage detection parameters for a specified SIP trunk group.
To View and Edit Packet Outage Parameters
On the SBC main screen, go to Configuration > System Provisioning > Category: Trunk Provisioning > Trunk Group > SIP Trunk Group > SIP Trunk Advanced > Packet Outage or
All > Address Context > Zone > SIP Trunk Group > Packet Outage
Use the drop-down boxes to select the specific Address Context, Zone and SIP Trunk Group you want to configure.
The Edit Packet Outage window is displayed.

Use the following table to change the values as needed and then click Save.

Minimum Duration | Specify the minimum period of outage for a call, in milliseconds, for that call to be counted by the packet outage detection algorithm. Must be in the range 0-65535, default is 6000 (milliseconds). |
Minimum Calls | Specify the minimum number of calls with outages in an interval to declare a packet outage event. Must be in the range 0-65535, default is 1000 (calls). |
Bandwidth Limit Reduction | Specify the amount to reduce the bandwidth limit (as a percentage of the configured limit) when a packet outage is detected. Must be in the range 0-100, default is 50 (percent). |
Detection State | Specify whether to enable automatic bandwidth reduction when a packet outage event is detected: - Disabled (default) – packet outages are not detected and the maximum bandwidth limit is not adjusted.
- Enabled – automatic bandwidth reduction occurs when a packet outage is detected.

Detection Interval | Specify the length of time, in minutes, in which to count packet outages to compare against the Minimum Calls threshold before triggering a packet outage event. Must be in the range 5-1440, default is 15 (minutes). |
Packet Outage Commands
To clear the packet outage detection state for a trunk group, select Clear in the Commands list and click Select.
Confirm that you want to clear the packet outage detection state when prompted.
