This section describes the steps necessary to configure the features required for a SIP endpoint to register with the SBC Edge using Local/Pass-through Authorization Tables:
Ribbon SBC Configuration
Add an Entry to the Local Registrar Table
To add a Local Registrar Table entry:
- In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
- In the left navigation pane, go to SIP > Local Registrars
- Click the Create SIP Local Registrar () icon.
- Enter a name for the table entry.
Click OK.
Add a Local/Pass-through Authorization Table
To add a Local/Pass-through Auth Table:
- In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
- In the left navigation pane, go to SIP > Local/Passthru Auth Tables.
- Click the Create Local/Pass-through Authorization Table () icon.
- Enter a name for the table entry (i.e: Authorization Table).
Click OK.
Add an Entry to the Local/Pass-through Authorization Table
To add an entry to the table:
- In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
- In the left navigation pane, go to SIP > Local/Pass-thru Auth Tables.
- Click the Authorization Table entry.
- Click the Create Local/Pass-through Authorization Entry () icon.
- Complete the Authorization Parameters fields as shown.
Click OK.
Add a Call Routing Table
To add a Call Routing Table:
- In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
- In the left navigation pane, go to Call Routing Table.
- Click the Create () icon.
- Enter a desired name in the Description field.
Click OK.
Add and Configure a SIP Signaling Group
To add and configure a Signaling Group:
- In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
- In the left navigation pane, go to Signaling Groups.
- Click Create Signaling Group and select SIP Signaling Group.
Endpoint Registration
Endpoint Configuration
To configure the endpoint:
- Configure the endpoint with the user's credentials and the SBC Edge IP address.
Click OK to register the endpoint with the SBC Edge as shown:
Registration Verification
When the endpoint registers, the registration request comes to the node through the SIP Signaling Group and the SBC Edge responds to the REGISTRATION request with a 200 OK message.
Using the Log Exchange utility, you can easily verify the relevant SIP messaging for a successful SIP endpoint registration:

Upon successful registration, the SBC Edge Registrar Table also displays the endpoint as a Registered User. Refer to Creating and Modifying SIP Local Registrars.
