Ribbon SBC SWe Lite Release 8.0.3 build 216
This page describes new supported features, and known limitations for the latest release of the Ribbon Session Border Controller Software Edition Lite (SBC SWe Lite).
Ribbon strongly recommends the following actions by no later than May 2020 to avoid any service disruption:
After June 1, 2020, SBC SWe Lite License Format Version 2 will no longer be recognized by any Ribbon supported SBC SWe Lite image. For further license guidance, contact Ribbon Support.

The Ribbon products in the following table support all SBC SWe Lite features and functionality for release 8.0.3.
The SBC SWe Lite is a virtualized, enterprise SBC designed for small- and mid-sized businesses. SWe Lite provides a virtual Customer Premise Equipment (vCPE) option for organizations looking to virtualize their interworking, security, and survivability for Unified Communications (UC). The SBC SWe Lite gives you the power to rapidly expand and activate features remotely using a simple license key, eliminating the need for on-site technicians or disruption to operations during peak business hours. With support for virtualization environments such as VMware ESXi, KVM, and Microsoft Azure, the SBC SWe Lite can be installed quickly and easily.
Ribbon SBC SWe Lite Release 8.0.3 Build 216 is a new release for the SBC SWe Lite product line.
The following SBC SWe Lite software is required for this release:
Refer to SBC SWe Lite Hardware and Software Requirements for more information on hardware and software requirements and recommendations.
After the software is downloaded and installed, use the WebUI to verify the currently installed software versions.
For Microsoft Hyper-V deployments only: Downgrading from Release 8.0 to an earlier release is not supported.
SBC SWe Lite is not supported on the Hypervisor platform VMware ESXi 5.5 running on Dell PowerEdge 740 hardware.

This section contain specific upgrade notes for customers planning to upgrade to SBC SWe Lite 8.0.3.
For SBC SWe Lite initially deployed via Azure Marketplace: The system is not automatically upgraded in the cloud; you must upgrade following the instructions below.
For SBC SWe Lite initially deployed via On Premises deployment (via Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM Hypervisor, or VMware ESXi): Follow the instructions below for upgrading.
Before you upgrade your SBC SWe Lite do the following:
A configuration backup must be performed before proceeding with the upgrade. Refer to Backing Up Data.
Follow the general upgrade procedure outlined in the Upgrading SBC SWe Lite.
The following previously released version(s) of SBC SWe Lite can be upgraded to Release 8.0.3.
This release includes all bug fixes implemented In the release which are documented in the Supported Upgrade Paths. To view bug fixes in previous releases, refer to the release notes(s) of interest from the SBC SWe Lite Documentation Home Page.

Ribbon SBC SWe Lite now offers License Format Version 3 as a license source. SBC SWe Lite License Format Version 2 will co-exist with SBC SWe Lite License Format Version 3 for Release 8.0.3. After June 30, 2020, you must upgrade to Release 8.0.3 (or later) AND request a re-build the license file to deprecate the embedded SBC SWe Lite License Format Version 2 acquired during initial purchase from Ribbon. For the SBC SWe Lite, you can use Microsoft Azure to reserve a VM as a cost saving mechanism. You can purchase reserved instances for one or three years.

CHOR-3740 Cloud-init Should Allow Changing Netconfig Password
For the SBC SWe Lite, you can use the cloud-init function to change the netconfig password. Configure netconfig_account
in the user_data file to change the netconfig password.

SYM-27456 E911 Support for Teams Direct Routing
The Ribbon SBC Edge can be configured to handle emergency calls from Microsoft Teams Direct Routing. This feature supports all providers that are supported by Microsoft Direct Routing E911 solution. Once the emergency call is received from Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, the SBC prioritizes the emergency call.

SYM-22743 Support for Azure AD Integration
With the SBC Edge, you can configure Microsoft Azure AD to automatically route calls from a SIP Trunk or PSTN to Microsoft Teams Direct Routing at the same time user migrates to Microsoft Teams. In a network scenario, a call arrives from the carrier and the SBC Edge uses Azure AD information to detect if the called user had already been migrated to Microsoft Teams, and then routes the call.
