This feature enhances Ribbon's SBC handling of customer emergency call disconnections. When the UE gives a BYE for an emergency call, the SBC releases the UE-SBC leg immediately. In contrast, the SBC's Emergency Calling Service (ECS) organization leg is released after a defined period, with a tone directed towards the ECS organization. The ECS organization receives location information from the Emergency Calling server, which obtains the callers' location information while the call is active. However, there are cases where the system at the Emergency organization fails to obtain the location information correctly while the call is active and attempts to retry after a few seconds; if the call is disconnected by that time at the ECS organization, then it fails to get location information. The organization’s system requires the call to remain active while obtaining the location information for the ECS at the calling carrier. Therefore, the call hold aids in obtaining the location information before the call is dropped. Configure the 'Emergency Call BYE Handle Leg Hold Time' parameter on a trunk group routed to the ECS organization.
To use this feature, configure the emgCallByeHandlelegHoldTime
to specify the "Emergency Call BYE Handling" duration (in seconds) for calls to remain active on the leg while the Emergency Call Server (ECS) obtains the location information for the calling carrier.
% set addressContext <name> zone <name> sipTrunkGroup <name> signaling emgCallByeHandlelegHoldTime <0-20>
Parameter | Length/Range | Description |
