Port mirroring allows the network traffic on one port to be passively copied onto another port. That traffic can then be captured and analyzed.

Configuring Port Mirroring

To configure port mirroring:

  1. In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the left navigation pane, go to Logging Configuration > Port Mirror.

  3. Click the Create Mirror Port () icon at the top of the page.

The mirrored port and the analyzer port must not be members of the same VLAN

Mirrored Port

Specifies the port to be mirrored.

The Mirrored Port cannot be the same port as the Analyzer Port.

Direction of Mirrored Packets

Specified the directionality of the mirrored packets.

Analyzer Port

Specifies the analyzer (destination) port of the mirrored packets. There may only be one analyzer port specified for the Sonus SBC 1000/2000 at any time. To change the analyzer port, all entries in the Port Mirror Configuration table must be deleted and re-entered with the new analyzer port.
