The SBC Core supports using the same IP address for both signaling (SIP, H.323 and gateway signaling) and media. The signaling address must be bound to the packet interface with the same IP address if the signaling address matches an IP interface address in the interface group. This enhanced validation occurs for the following activities:

  • Creation/update of SIP signaling port address
  • Creation/update of H.323 and H.245 signaling port address
  • Creation/update of Gateway (GW) signaling port address
  • When an IP interface is added to an interface group
  • When an IP interface address changes
  • When an IP interface is removed from an interface group
