system comprises multiple software modules known as
Subsystems. Each Subsystem provides its own set of log messages that can be tuned and monitored independently. Subsystem level logging is typically used when diagnosing a problem on the
Unable to show "metadata-from": No such page "_space_variables"
system.
The Log Profile contain a set of related subsystems, along with the associated log level. Each Log Profile enables an easy way to enable/disable subsystems; the information in the Log Profile can be applied easily to the logging subsystem configuration.
Quick Start: How to Set Up Logging Using Log Profiles
The following are suggested subsystems to log when troubleshooting telephony-related issues:
- Common Call Control
- Media Stream Controller Service
- SIP Stack Service
- Call Routing Service
- Core Switching/Routing
- ISDN Protocol
The major subsystems are available in system defined Log Profiles, you apply a Log Profile to the Subsystem Configuration and the associated Subsystems are mapped into the log.
Apply a Log Profile as follows:
- In the left navigation pane, go to Logging Configuration > Subsystems.
- Click the Apply Log Profile option at the top of the Subsystem Configuration window.
- Select the Profile Name (system defined) and Log Destination (see below for subsystems included in each Log Profile).
- Click OK.

During high call churn,

recommends that no more than 3 subsystems be configured with logging levels
higher than 'Informational'.
Working With Log Profiles
A Log Profile contains a set of related subsystems and log levels; it provides an easy way to enable/disable subsystems. The information created in the Log Profile is mapped into the Subsystem log. Through the Log Profiles table, there are two types of Log Profiles created: User defined (user configurable Log Profile) and System defined (pre-defined Log Profile; see Creating and Modifying Log Profiles for the list of predefined Log Profiles).
A Log Profile includes the following:
- Subsystem Name (Name of the subsystem logged)
- Log Level (Log level defined for that subsystem)
Once a new Log Profile is created, the Log Profile can be applied to a Subsystem log. The Subsystem configuration can also be saved as a Log Profile. For detailed information about Log Profiles, see Creating and Modifying Log Profiles.
Viewing the Log Profiles Table
- In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
- In the left navigation pane, click Logging Configuration > Log Profiles.
- Click the popup () icon next to the entry you want to view.
- When you are finished, close the window.

To delete an entry, select the checkbox next to the entry and then click the Delete () icon.
Working with Subsystems Logging
The Subsystem Configuration table enables you configure the following for a subsystem:
- Subsystem Name
- Log Level
- Destination
In addition, you can apply a Log Profile to a specific subsystem and/or save a subsystem configuration entry as a Log Profile.
Viewing Subsystem Configuration
- In the WebUI, click the Settings tab.
- In the left navigation pane, click Logging Configuration > Subsystems.
- Click the popup() icon next to the entry you want to view.
- When you are finished, close the window.
