This object allows to provision the emergency number translation services for subscribers with phone numbers not tied to a specific geographic location.

There can only be one instance, "DEFAULT_E911", of this object. Install the license, SBC-POL-E911, to create this object.

 

To View E911

On SBC main screen, go to All > Global > Servers > E911. The E911 window is displayed.

To Edit E911

To edit any of the E911 in the list, click the radio button next to the specific E911 name.

Make the required changes and click Save at the right hand bottom of the panel to save the changes made.

To Create E911

To create a new E911, click New E911 tab on the E911 List panel.

Enter the E911 name.

Treatment

From the drop-down list, select the default treatment for requests that time out.

  • routeAsDialed

Request Time
Out

The request timeout value in milliseconds for messages from the SBC 5000 series to the server. The default value is 4000 ms.

Route
Precedence

Specifies whether the routing should follow LRO (Last Routing Option) or Local Routing, in the event that a location for the caller cannot be determined. LRO is the default.

Possible values are:

  • LRO
  • Local

Vpc Device

Specifies the VPC device name for e911 server. This parameter is used to define E911 VoIP Positioning Center device data for the SBC 5000 series to use for queries to one or more E911 VPCs for the Emergency Services Routing Number of the Public Services Answering Point nearest the current location of the caller.

Make the required changes and click Save at the right hand bottom of the panel to save the changes made.

To Delete E911

Once an E911 entry is created, it can not be deleted. There can only be one instance of this object.
