The following section provides an overview of the hardware and software provided by Ribbon for an MA-RMS system.
The Ribbon Multi-Application Rack Mount Server (MA-RMS) is a carrier grade server that acts as a common server platform across multiple product lines.
The following table provides hardware descriptions for the MA-RMS:

For more information on the vSP2000 requirements on a Dell server, refer to the DSC SWe and vSP2000 (on KVM) Software Installation Guide.
Ribbon provides installation services for the MA-RMS.
Successful configuration of the MA-RMS Server depends on accurately capturing customer-supplied information and detailed network design and engineering. Ribbon engineering teams work with customers to collect the information and develop a network engineering specification that contains the required configuration data.
If you require any assistance with the hardware, contact Customer Support.
The Virtual Hosting Environment (VHE) is pre-installed on the Ribbon-supplied MA-RMS hardware. VHE is hardened to industry standards to provide a secure server operating environment for Virtual Machine (VM) guests on both simplex and high availability (HA) platforms.
The VHE Host Server OS software is installed using the Remote Maintenance Module (RMM) port (command line and attaching booting ISO) or through a DVD. The customer specific information and required data is provisioned from the network engineering specification and entered as part of Ribbon's manufacturing installation and commissioning process.
A Ribbon Technician performs server configuration and setup.
For information about the VHE, refer to the Virtual Hosting Environment Administration Guide (630-02720-01). This guide is only available as a PDF for download from the
. For information on downloading this PDF, refer to Access Information on the Documentation Center. The Virtual Hosting Environment Administration Guide is a generic VHE guide that should only be used as a reference guide.
If you require any assistance with the VHE Host configuration, contact Customer Support.
