The Link Detection Group object allows you to group interfaces and associated Link Monitors together and track link verification failures within the group. A Link Detection Group will be configured with a unique name and a failover threshold. The Link Detection Group tracks the number of link verification failures that have occurred among the Link Monitors configured.
In addition to a Failover Threshold, a Link Detection Group can also be configured with values for the verifyTimer
, responseTimer
, reattemptTimer
and retries.
These values will be used for each Link Monitor belonging to the group, unless that Link Monitor is configured with its own unique values for these fields.
Link detection failure alarms are generated by Link Verification Manager (LVM) and are raised only when LDG is configured. NRS generated alarms are raised regardless of whether LDG is configured.
If no LDG is configured on the management ports, then SBC allows manual switch-overs.
When configuring a Link Detection Group, if the default address context is selected, the Interface type (ip or mgmt) is displayed. Whereas, when a non-default address context is selected, the ‘Type’ field does not display any option. It defaults to the type 'ip'. This is because the Management (MGMT) interfaces are not within an address context. They are configured at the system level.
On SBC main screen, go to Configuration > System Provisioning > Category: Base Provisioning > Link Detection Group. The Link Detection Group window is displayed.
The Link Detection Group can be checked for each Address Context or for all the Address Contexts created. Use the drop-down box to select the desired Address Context.
