The SBC CNe supports the Media Resource Function (MRF) RFC 4117 transcoding to allow external MRF for transcoding subjects for the SBC CNe using the global configuration object "mrfProfile." The Media Resource Function (MRF) supports any media inter-working requirement that includes transcoding and transrating. The MRF RFC 4117 transcoding requirements are already supported on the SBC SWe Platform. For more information on MRF, refer to Invoking MRF as a Transcoder for D-SBC.

To View the Mrf Profile

On the SBC main screen, go to All > Global > MrF Profile

The Mrf` Profile window is displayed.

To Create an Mrf Profile

To create a new Mrf Profile object, click New MrF Profile on the MrF Profile window.

The Create New Mrf window is displayed.

Mrf Profile Parameters

Parameter

Description

Name

Specifies the name of the target.

Mrf Routing Type

Choose whether to use FQDN or a list of IP address to route the Invite towards the MRF server.

  • FQDN (default)
  • IP Address

The user must choose IP Address to make the Mrf IP Address parameter available below.

Mrf Request URI

Specifies the value of the Request-Uri sent to the MRF server in the Initial Invite.

Mrf Port

Specifies the MRF Server port value.

Mrf Transport Type

Select a transport protocol for this MRF Profile.

  • UDP (default)
  • TCP
  • TLS

Mrf IP Address

List of four IP addresses for the MRF servers.

The user must choose IP Address as the Mrf Routing Type to make this parameter available.

Mrffqdn

Name of the FQDN of the MRF server.

Mrf TG Name

Choose a signaling trunk group to use with the MRF for this profile.

Mrf Media IP Interface Group Name

Choose an IP Interface Group name that points to the MRF.

State

The administrative state of the MRF Profile.

  • disabled (default)
  • enabled


To Edit a Monitor Target

  1. To edit an Mrf filter, select the filter the Mrf Profile List window by clicking the radio button next to it. The Edit Selected Mrf Profile window is displayed.
  2. Make necessary changes and click Save to save the changes. 

To Copy a Monitor Target

  1. To copy a Monitor Target, select the filter the Mrf Profile List window by clicking the radio button next to it.
  2. Click Copy Mrf Profile on the Mrf Profile List window. The Copy Selected Mrf Profile window is displayed.
  3. Make necessary changes and click Save to save the changes. Click Undo Edits to cancel all changes.

To Delete a Monitor Target

  1. To delete an Mrf Profile, click the X symbol at the right of the row containing the server name that you want to delete. A dialog box pops up, asking for confirmation of deletion.
  2. Click Yes to confirm deletion when prompted. 
  3. Click Ok to complete the deletion process.
