Configuring Message Translation of 180/183 with or without SDP

This section describes how to control the translation of 180/183 with/without SDP and to handle the termination of 180/183 messages.

Introduction

The 180/183 Message with/without SDP received at EM will be translated depending on the configured values done by the user. The Message translation feature allows the EdgeMarc to do the following translations:

• Translate 180 with SDP into 180 without SDP.
• Translate 183 with SDP into 180 without SDP.
• Translate 180 with SDP into 183 with SDP.
• Translate 183 with SDP into 180 with SDP.
• Translate 180 without SDP into 183 without SDP.
• Translate 183 without SDP into 180 without SDP.

It also allows terminating any 180/183 messages. Here Edgemarc evaluates the translation rules from the top of the list to find a match.

To Configure Message Translation

1. Choose VoIP > SIP > B2BUA from the Configuration Menu on the left-hand side.

2. Scroll down to Actions and add the actions mentioned in the following steps, and associated HMR rules.
3. In the Message Translation section,
      a. Select the Incoming and Outgoing message type. 
      b. Select the SDP Presence
      c. Choose whether to send the message or not. 
4. You can see multiple translation rules as a list in an Actions of B2BUA Trunking Configuration page. 
5. The Actions pane displays the translation rules as per the GUI configured, and this is updated in the configuration file.

      6. The received message is compared with the configured incoming Message type and provide corresponding translation behavior.

      7. The received message is compared with the configured incoming Message type and provide corresponding translation behavior.
