Description

This alarm indicates that the SIP Register License Threshold is reached. The threshold limit is 90% of the maximum license count. If the SIP Register License is not applied, and the REGISTER is tried, the alarm sonusSipRegThresholdReachedNotification is raised. It's cleared upon receiving the first REGISTER message after applying the license.

Note: For NWDL licenses, the maximum license count is equal to the maximum registrations supported by the SBC. For Node-Locked licenses, the maximum license count is equal to the number of licenses configured.

Action

The Admin must examine the SIP REGISTER traffic towards the REGISTRAR.

Impact

The alarm indicates that SIP Register License Threshold is reached. After License limit is breached the SIP REGISTRAR may start rejecting REGISTER messages.

Clearing

Automatic; sonusSipRegThresholdClearedNotificationCnf.

Note: The alarm is cleared when the threshold falls back to 80% of the maximum license count but not if it happens within 5 seconds. For example, if the registration count reaches 90% of the maximum license count and the very next second the count reaches to 80% of the maximum license count (due to a registration expiration), then the alarm is not cleared immediately. After 5 seconds, if the registration count is lesser than 80% of max license count, then the alarm is cleared. This control is implemented to control the flooding of alarms in the system.
