HA-related configuration options are available in the SBC SWe Edge WebUI if you have purchased the HA SKU. The following provides information on WebUI changes to the entities of the five general tabs in the SBC SWe Edge:


By default, you can only configure the settings of your SBC SWe Edge through the Active instance. The Standby instance is mainly in a view-only permissions mode unless otherwise specified.

An Example of a Packet Interface Supporting Only the IPv4 Address on the Active Instance

  • The High Availability interface is added. The HA interface supports only static IPv4 and includes the following fields: 
    • Local IP Address
    • Local IP Netmask
    • Remote IP Address

HA Interface Field Descriptions

Note

You can configure all the interfaces on the Active instance, but can only configure the Admin IP and High Availability interfaces on the Standby instance. 

  • The IPv6 option is removed from the IP Addressing Mode dropdown menu for all packet interfaces, as the interfaces only support IPv4 addresses in release 12.0.

Note

The Active and Standby instances reboot after you enable HA and change the local or remote IP addresses.

Note

You must configure the connection to RAMP on both the Active and the Standby instances. Make sure that both instances point to the same RAMP server.

Note

Make sure that the RAMP servers are deployed in the geographically redundant (GR) mode if you choose to configure with the secondary RAMP server. For more information on configuring a GR RAMP deployment, refer to Configuring RAMP GR.

    Note

    When you configure an HA pair, web servers run on both the Active and the Standby instances.     You can view the peer instance's WebUI link on both the Active and the  Standby instances. Note that you can use non-standard web ports to view the link for the Standby instance on the Active instance.
