In this section:

This parameter specifies the Diameter peers of this node.

To View Peer

On SBC main screen, navigate to All > Address Context > Diam Node > Peer.

The Peer can be checked for each Address Context and Diam Node or for all the Address Contexts and Diam Nodes created. Use the drop-down box to select the desired Address Context and Diam Node.

To Edit Peer

To edit any of the Peer in the list, click the radio button next to the specific Peer name.

Make the required changes and click Save at the right hand bottom of the panel to save the changes made.

To Create Peer

To create a new Peer, click New Peer tab on the Peer List panel.

The following fields are displayed:

Peer Parameters

ParameterDescription
Name
Specifies the logical name of this peer. The value ranges up to 23 characters.
State

Specifies whether this peer should be enabled or not. The options are:

  • Disabled (default)
  • Enabled
Ip Address
Specifies the type of IP Address to be added for this Peer.
Fqdn
Specifies that the local identity will be presented in Fully Qualified Domain Name
(FQDN) format. The value ranges up to 128 characters.
Tcp Port
Specifies the TCP port number of this peer. The values ranges from 1 to 65535 and the default value is 3868.
Device Watchdog Timer
SBC send Device Watchdog Requests according to the configured Device Watchdog Timer value. 
Device Watchdog Timer Answer Timeout 

If a Device Watchdog Request is not replied by a Device Watchdog Answer before the Device Watchdog Timer Answer Timeout timer expires, SBC considers a peer down.

Session Distribution

Honor-reply-order - If this parameter is configured as Honor-reply-orde, diameter session creation across multiple IP connections under this peer honors the order of the IP addresses that are returned in the DNS reply starting from the first one.
Round-robin  - If this parameter is configured as Round-robin, diameter session creation across multiple IP connections under this peer are rotated in round-robin fashion starting from the first one.

To Copy Peer

To copy any of the created Peer and to make any minor changes, click the radio button next to the specific Peer to highlight the row.

Click Copy Peer tab on the Peer List panel.

The Copy Selected Peer window is displayed along with the field details which can be edited.

Make the required changes to the required fields and click Save to save the changes. The copied Peer is displayed at the bottom of the original Peer in the Peer List panel.

To Delete Peer

To delete any of the created Peer, click the radio button next to the specific Peer which you want to delete.

Click Delete at the end of the highlighted row. A delete confirmation message appears seeking your decision.

Click Yes to remove the specific Peer from the list.
