In this section:
The following section is only applicable to the DSC 8000, the DSC SWe (on MA-RMS), the Signaling Platform 2000 (SP2000), and the virtual SP2000 (on MA-RMS).
Before you create and provision an Annex A Signaling Channel, make sure that the T1/E1/J1 interface (port) is set to one of the following:
- T1_D4 - configurable for 24 TDM channels at 1.5 Mbp/s with no cyclic redundancy (CRC) error check
- T1_ESF - configurable for 24 TDM channels at 1.5 Mbp/s with cyclic redundancy (CRC) error check
- E1 - configurable for 31 TDM channels at 2.0 Mbp/s with no CRC error check
- E1_CRC4 - configurable for 31 TDM channels at 2.0 Mbp/s with CRC error check
- J1 - configurable for 24 TDM channels at 1.5 Mbp/s with cyclic redundancy (CRC) error check
For more information about configuring the T1/E1/J1 interface, refer to Configuring IO Cards and the SS7 Interfaces.
Make sure that the local and remote SS7 port is set to the same T1/E1/J1 interface type. Otherwise, the system does not function as expected.
After you created and configured the Annex A Signaling Channel, you can provision the Annex A links at MTP3 (refer to Configuring Annex A Links).
Creating an HSL Annex A Signaling Channel
Before you create HSL Annex A Signaling Channel, make sure that you selected the link combinations you want to have on your system (refer to Configuring Link Capabilities for I/O Cards ).
To create an HSL Annex A Signaling Channel
- Log onto the WebUI.
- Click Hardware.
- Click the required I/O card on the Hardware image.
- Click the required I/O card.
Click LICENSED in the HSL AnnexA Selection screen.
Click Create.
- Enter the channel number.
- Click Create.
Configuring an HSL Annex A Signaling Channel
After creating an Annex A Signaling Channel (see the preceding procedure),you must map this channel to a port on the I/O card.
The baud rate for the HSL Annex A Signaling Channel is automatically determined when you define whether the channel has a T1 or E1 interface. The T1_D4 and T1 ESF interfaces have a 1.5 Mbp/s baud rate and the E1 and E_CRC4 interfaces have a 2.0 Mbp/s baud rate.
To configure an HSL Annex A Signaling Channel
- Login to the WebUI.
- Click Hardware.
- Click the I/O card on the Hardware image.
- Click the required I/O card.
- Click LICENSED in HSL AnnexA Screen.
Click the required HSL Annex A Channel.
- Configure the attributes.
- Click Continue.
After you completed provisioning the HSL Annex A Signaling Channel, configure the required Annex A links (refer to Configuring Annex A Links).
Viewing Annex A Channel Logging
Logging attributes for HSL Annex A Signaling Channels and links are configured at MTP3 (refer to Configuring Annex A Links). However, you may view the logging setup for the HSL Annex A Signaling Channel using MTP2.
To view HSL Annex A Signaling Channel logging
- Login to the WebUI.
- Click Hardware.
- Click the I/O card on the Hardware image.
- Click the required I/O card.
- Click LICENSED in HSL AnnexA Selection Screen.
- Click the required HSL Annex A Link.
- Click HSL AnnexA Channel Logging.
