Use this object to configure global DNS settings.

On SBC main screen, go to Configuration > System Provisioning > Category: Base Provisioning > DNS > Servers > Dns > Global. The Global window is displayed.

Dns - Global Window

The following fields are displayed:

Dns - Global Parameters

Description

Iteration Count
 

Specifies Global Iteration count limit for DNS iterations of server requests. The value ranges from 0 to 32 and the default value is 8.

Retransmission Count
Specifies Global retransmission count limit for DNS iterations of server requests. The value ranges from 0 to 20 and the default value is 2.
Retransmission Timer
Specifies Global retransmission timer value (in milliseconds) for DNS iterations of server requests. The value ranges from 100 to 10000 and the default value is 500.
Monitoring Interval

Specifies Global monitoring interval (in seconds) for DNS Servers. The value ranges from 1 to 300 and the default value is 5.

Timeouts

Specifies Global number of time outs for blacklisting a DNS Server. The value ranges from 0 to 32 and the default value is 0.

Probe Interval

Specifies Global probe interval (in seconds) for blacklisted DNS Servers. The value ranges from 1 to 300 and the default value is 5.
