The L2 connections for local SS7 links are created and preconfigured when your system is deployed. If you have to do any provisioning for L2 Connections, it is recommended that you contact Customer Support for assistance.
The L2 connections are used to connect between an MTP3 (DRE) and a remote MTP2 using the M2UA protocol over SCTP. When creating L2 Connections, ensure you provide the appropriate Primary DRE ID to ensure proper communication between the respective DRE and its MTP Level 2. The Primary DRE ID represents the DRE to manage the MTP Level 2 (DRE resident on the DSC - SP2000 Platform).
