In this section:
The SDA installation is performed on the DSC 8000 platform.
An SDA software installation is performed by Ribbon professional services during initial SDA deployment.
Installing the SDA Software
Perform the steps outlined in the following procedures to install SDA on the DSC 8000 platform.
Before installing or upgrading the SDA software on the DSC 8000, it is recommends that you backup all SDA database tables installed on your system. Ribbon professional services performs backup and restore operations on your system when installing new software or upgrading an existing SDA installation.
To install SDA on the DSC 8000
- Logon to the MGMT CPU as root for the DSC 8000 system requiring the SDA software.
Verify the required SDA installation files are installed on the MGMT CPU.
Command Example# ls -l total 116 -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 31148 Sep 14 08:39 INSTALL_flex.sh -rw------- 1 root root 20518 Aug 29 15:56 anaconda-ks.cfg -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 42663 Aug 29 15:55 install.log -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8256 Aug 29 15:54 install.log.syslog # ls -l software/ total 92788 -r--r--r-- 1 root root 47116123 Sep 14 08:40 SDA_16_1_0_nb20170910.tgz

Resolve SDA Installation Issues
If the SDA software is not properly installed, check for any useful information in the drbd_setup.log
.
cat /opt/sigflex/current/drbd_setup.log
The hard drive is still mounted. Use the following command to determine which processes are using the hard drive: #fuser -m /var/stats Please stop these processes and manually unmount the hard drive if you wish to reformat the hard drive. If the above suggestion does not work, try to reboot booth SDA Sysmgr Slots and do the fresh install again from beginning. Proceeding to format peer hard drive... Checking that no-one is using this disk right now ... OK Warning: no primary partition is marked bootable (active) This does not matter for LILO, but the DOS MBR will not boot this disk. If you created or changed a DOS partition, /dev/foo7, say, then use dd(1) to zero the first 512 bytes: dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/foo7 bs=512 count=1 (See fdisk(8).) Hard drive format complete. open(/dev/sdb1) failed: Device or resource busy
The logs above indicate that the installation failed because the disk cannot be unmounted. To resolve this issue
Format
/dev/sdb1
mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdb1
Mount it to
/share
mount /dev/sdb1 /shared
- Remove and install the SDA again
Installing Services and Service Handlers
Following the installation of the SDA software, to complete the SDA deployment, installation of Services and Service Handlers is required.
Installation of required Services and Service Handlers is provided by Ribbon professional services during initial SDA deployment based on contractual agreement.
For more information on menu and toolbar options for accessing Services and Service Handlers in the SDA System Manager GUI, see the SDA System Manager User Guide.
